Columbia County Birding

Most of my blogs follow this format - www.(countyname)countybirding.blogspot.com. But in some cases, I'm doubling up on counties! Columbia and Walla Walla Counties got combined into a single year in 2025. You can follow that year at wwccountybirding.blogspot.com. (The wwc standing for wallawallacolumbia)

Cliff notes! It was a great year of birding! 158 species found in a county where the previous county year list record was 172 species. Another excellent birder who lived closer by kind of demolished the old record and found 197 species during that year! We had a good time adding to the sightings out there in Columbia County, a typically underbirded County tucked in with the Snake River and the Blue Mountains in the Southeast corner of the state.
